Introduction

Every two years the World Wine Forum brings together professionals from the sector in La Rioja, making it the centre for debates about all aspects relating to vine growing and winemaking.

Over the six previous editions, the Forum has dealt in depth with the situation of the sector and the challenges it faces as it leaps forward, and has provided answers to needs at all times.

At the coming forum, the seventh to date, we will cover subjects concerning adaptation to the changing environment, characterised by new vine growing and winemaking techniques, the drop in wine consumption and changes in the legal framework.

We will also be discussing subjects such as cultivation costs, the introduction of new varieties and their influence on growing practices, respect for the environment, emerging markets, new products and packaging, consumer trends and strategies to promote a responsible consumption of wine, so that appropriate instruments can be offered in order to increase the competitiveness of the sector.
